Liam Neeson Would Play Ra’s al Ghul On ‘Arrow’ ‘In A Heartbeat’

So, after two seasons of teasing, we're finally going to see Ra's al Ghul in Arrow! However, other than a brief tease in an extended trailer, we have no idea who will be playing him.

Well, how about Liam Neeson? He did play the popular Batman Rogue in 2005's Batman Begins, and even had a small cameo in 2012's The Dark Knight Rises. Yet, what are the odds an actor like Neeson would be willing to take the big screen version of the character and move him to television? Better then you'd actually think!

During a press junket for A Walk Among The Tombstones, Neeson revealed he has not been approached by The CW or Warner Bros. to play the character in the upcoming season of Arrow. This isn't surprising, considering the powers that be have been keeping the DC Comics Cinematic Universe separate from that seen on television.

But, would Neeson play the role once again? “I would, in a heartbeat, if it came my way, yeah,” Neeson admitted during the interview. “Very much so.”

Now that is very exciting to hear. However, the chances of Arrow creating a direct connection with Nolan’s movies is very slim. So, chances are good someone new will take up the role. However, Neeson does have some advice for the next person to play the character - “They have to believe in their philosophy,” Neeson said. “Ra’s al Ghul absolutely believed what he was doing was ultimately saving civilization, and it was quite a good argument he comes up with. Throughout the ages this fraternity, that brought the plague to wipe out a section of mankind because it needed to be regenerated again. Very dangerous, but you have to believe it.”

Whoever does end up playing Ra's al Ghul, be it Neeson or another actor, better be ready. It won't be an easy task to take down the team Oliver has put together on Arrow.

What do you guys think? Should Neeson take up the role once again, or would you like to see someone else get a turn at playing 'The Demon's Head'?

Star Wars: Episode VII Resumes Production

A source has confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that production on the highly anticipated J.J. Abrams film resumed earlier this week.

The film had been delayed a few weeks following the on-set injury of Harrison Ford, returning to the iconic Star Wars franchise as Han Solo, back in June. Sources claimed the injury involved Ford and the Millennium Falcon, the spacecraft piloted by his character in the original trilogy. The actor later underwent successful surgery and the film went on a two week hiatus to await his full recovery.

Plot details surrounding the seventh chapter in the Star Wars franchise have been kept tightly under wraps, but we do know the film will be picking up 30 years after the events seen in 1983's Return of the Jedi.

Shooting under the direction of J.J. Abrams (Into Darkness), Star Wars: Episode VII stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker and series newcomers John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong'o and Max von Sydow.

The film is set for release on December 18th, 2015 and Disney and Lucasfilm have assured fans Mr. Ford's injury, and the project hiatus, will not affect the release date of the movie.

IDW Press Release: The World Will Always Need G.I. Joe

Looks like a brand new G.I. Joe series is coming from IDW, with Republic Commando author Karen Traviss at the helm! Read on...

San Diego, CA (August 27, 2014) – Acclaimed British military science-fiction author Karen Traviss reignites the G.I. JOE franchise with an all-new series. Filled with the kind of gritty realism fans of the author have come to expect, this new take on G.I. JOE is guaranteed to please followers of the classic property and comic readers experiencing it for the first time.

The world has changed and so must G.I. JOE—lead by Scarlett, the once-revered G.I. JOE team faces an unthinkable reality where Cobra has become an unlikely peacekeeping taskforce. Utilizing real-world dangers and politics, this is a G.I. JOE comic the likes of which has never been seen.

“Karen understands the world of men and women in the military,” says IDW Senior Editor John Barber. “She gets what their reality is like—which is why she’s held in such high regard by veterans, as well as fans of character-driven action.

Traviss guides an all-star squad of talent on this monthly series starting with fan-favorite artist Steve Kurth on interior art. With a keen eye for design, Jeffery Veregge provides striking covers to the series. The first issue will feature a subscription variant cover by Cliff Chiang.

"When John [Barber] asked me to write the series, it was one of those spooky coincidences,” said Traviss. “I'd literally just finished writing a scene for my new novel, GOING GREY, where two of the characters – vets now serving as private military contractors – discuss whether having G.I. Joe and Action Man as boys, influenced their choice of career. G.I. Joe is still that iconic after 50 years, because it's about people, and it's never shied away from the human reality of warfare. I'm genuinely delighted to have the chance to work on the franchise."

Look for this new series to infiltrate comic shops this September, and follow IDW Publishing on facebook.com/idwpublishing and @idwpublishing for more news and updates!

Being huge fans of Karen's work in the Star Wars Expanded Universe, this is one IDW G.I. Joe series we most certainly will be checking out!

GCPD Spotted on the Dawn of Justice Set

Okay, so this may not be the most exciting news, but it's still cool nonetheless. Today, we have a look at some Gotham City Police Department cars seen on the set of Dawn of Justice, thus confirming earlier rumors that they will indeed have a presence in the film!

Does that mean we may also see the likes of Jim Gordon, Harvey Bullock, Renee Montoya or Crispus Allen? Although rumors have been circulating we may see Jim Gordon, nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

Still, it's kind of cool to have confirmation that Gotham's Finest will be appearing in the upcoming sequel! Look for Zack Snyder's Dawn of Justice, which stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Jeremy Irons, Jesse Eisenberg, Ray Fisher and Gal Gadot to hit theaters on March 25th, 2016.

Until than, enjoy the images mirrored below!

Playmates Reveals Classic Comic Ninja Turtle Figures

Cowabunga, Dudes! Looks as though the SDCC exclusive comic book style Raphael Ninja Turtle figure was indeed a per-cursor to something Playmates had waiting in the wings - full-color, comic style Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures!

     From Playmates:

In 1984, Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman created and published a 40-page black and white comic, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were born. The comic was dark and edgy, and the look of the Turtles reflected that style.

In the color version of the comics, all of the Turtles were the same shade of green and all of their bandanas were red. Only their signature weapons helped to visually differentiate each brother.

These action figures pay homage to that earlier TMNT character style.

In addition, thanks to sanityattack over at the Technodrome Forums, we have a first look at the comic based Turtles in their packaging, alongside some additions to the popular Nickelodeon Series of figures!

No doubt, these will feature the same articulation as the SDCC 2014 exclusive, but still, comic book based Ninja Turtles based off the early artwork of Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman? YES, PLEASE!!!

Look for these awesome homage pieces to hit retail soon!

DC Multiverse Arkham Knight Figures - Images and Info

Amazon has posted new listings, and official images of Mattel's upcoming line of DC Multiverse Arkham Knight figures!

Coming in at 4" tall, fans of the previous DC Multiverse figures can expect the same type of detail and articulation seen on earlier additions to the line.

Included in this newest assortment of figures are:
Check out the official images mirrored below.

Sigh! This line has never wowed us the way the 6" DC Universe Classics line did. We know this is something completely different, but, come on! Really, Mattel, is this the best you can do? No accessories, limited articulation, bad paint - these are a pass for us.

Yes, we know there are some who will feel we are being too hard on the DC Multiverse line, but we can't help it. After the awesome DCUC line, we really wish more fans had supported it. And yet, we are not surprised things turned out the way they did.

Still, that was an adult collector line, the DC Multiverse figures don't deserve that stamped onto their packaging, in our opinion. They're just a poor replacement for what came before.

And, when these are stacked against the 7" Arkham Knight figures coming from DC Collectibles this March, there really is no comparison. Oh well, to each his own, I guess.

Once again, we are feeling the space left behind by the cancellation of DC Universe Classics. Sorry, Mattel, but the DC Multiverse figures, while may be liked by some, are an overall pass for us here at Infinite Earths.
