No Bullseye in Daredevil Netflix Series

Okay, so we know that Daredevil will be battling the Kingpin in the upcoming Netflix series. What about other villains? What about, say, Bullseye for instance?

Well, don't hold your breath if you're expecting that character to make an appearance on the show. At least at this point. Showrunner Steven DeKnight has revealed, via Twitter, that no one is set to play him in the upcoming series.

Take a look at his Tweet, mirrored below...

Again, this doesn't mean things won't change as the show grows in popularity. But, who knows. Perhaps they want to avoid putting the character in to avoid any similarities between the new series and the horrid Ben Affleck flick from 2003.

What do you think about this, Infinite Earths fans? Do you think Bullseye will never show up in Daredevil? Do you want him to? Or are you more interested in other villains appearing?

Batman Eternal To Return for Second Year

During a recent AMA session on Reddit today, Batman writer Scott Snyder revealed that a second year is on the way for the popular weekly series Batman Eternal.

The series is currently set to end this coming March, just prior to DC Comics' move from New York to Los Angeles. During this time, it is largely speculated that there will be a two-month event that will take the place of the entire line at DC Comics, to celebrate the original Crisis on Infinite Earths. Following this, Batman Eternal will pick up for "Year 2."

The continuation of the popular weekly DC Comics series had been teased before, but this is the first time confirmation has been made that the title will be moving forward.

Synder's exact quote from the AMA session was: “Yep! The story ends in March and then we'll do a year 2 after a break (we have to get WAY ahead on a weekly series before it starts coming out).”

More Batman news was teased during the session, including that Batman #36 will reveal “how long we’ve had plans for Endgame,” implying it will tie back to an older story.

Are you excited to see the weekly Batman Eternal series continuing? We Sure Are!

Gambit Spin-Off Moving Forward

News has reached our ears that Fox are officially moving ahead with the Gambit spin-off film. Channing Tatum (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) has officially been signed on to star, and the studio has hired Robocop scribe Josh Zetumer to write the screenplay. Additionally, Tatum will also produce with his Free Association partner Reid Carolin, The Donners Company’s Lauren Shuler Donner, and Genre Films’ Simon Kinberg.

The screenplay for the film will be based off a treatment penned by legendary Marvel Comics writer Chris Claremont, who with Jim Lee created the character for Marvel in 1990. Plot details are, of course, under wraps for the time being.

Gambit, also known as Remy LeBeau, has the ability to charge matter with volatile kinetic energy, causing the object in question to explosively release its charge on impact.

So, it looks as though things are finally moving forward on this long rumored X-Men spin-off! Are you excited, or are you one of those people who feel the X-Men work better as a team on screen instead of in their own solo flicks?

More Supergirl Character Casting Descriptions Surface

Even more character casting descriptions for CBS' upcoming Supergirl have surfaced today, these ones revealing potential allies and villains alike!

     Take a Look!

CAT GRANT The project is eyeing females in their 40s, open ethnicity, to play the founder of CatCo, a media conglomerate that Cat built from the ground up. Kara (Supergirl’s mild-mannered alter ego) will work as a personal assistant to Cat, who is described as “J.Lo by way of Anna Wintour.”

JAMES OLSEN In his late 20s/early 30s, open ethnicity, James is a smart, worldly and (duh) attractive photographer for CatCo. Though an alpha male, his salt-of-the-earth nature elicits a huge ol’ crush from Kara.

WINSLOW ‘WYNN’ SCHOTT
This twentysomething tech whiz/Comic-Con stalwart toils for CatCo as a programmer, unaware of his own (toying?) potential. Unware of her secret, he carries a torch for Kara, whom he lives next door to.

HANK HENSHAW As an upstart CIA agent, Hank grew obsessed with intergalactic intel. Now in his 40s and lording over the DEO (Department of Extra-Normal Operations), he is on high alert when Supergirl reveals herself, worried that her otherworldly abilities pose a threat to humankind.

Well, still no mention of Superman, but it does look like Rapaport Casting is looking to get some pretty popular villains within the ranks of the Supergirl show with Toyman and Cyborg Superman!

Really starting to look forward to this one, how about you guys?

New Monsterarts Godzilla 2014 Figures Revealed

The Tamashii Nations “Soul Nation” Event is currently going on in Japan, and Bandai and Tamashii Nations have wasted no time showcasing some of their future releases!

Godzilla looks to be the primary focus of the Monsterarts line at the show this year, more specifically, the Gareth Edwards version seen in this summer's blockbuster Godzilla. So far, fans have been able to add a single Monsterarts Godzilla 2014 figure to their collection, but it looks like at least two more versions of the King of the Monsters are coming soon!

Shown off at the show, we have a first look at a new Final Battle version of Godzilla, sporting a new paint job and coming packaged alongside an atomic breath affect piece and MUTO head. This is a very neat looking addition to the Monsterarts line, and will be the one of the two shown at the show we will most certainly be getting once it is released.

In addition, Tamashii Nations and Bandai have also shown off a Poster Color edition of the Godzilla 2014 figure. He appears to be a straight up repaint of the initial Godzilla 2014 that was just recently released. Neat and all, but not for us.

It certainly looks as though Godzilla 2014 will be a major focus in the Monsterarts line heading into 2015, and why not? All the film did was introduce a whole new generation of fans to Toho's classic kaiju and usher in the possibility of a new North American Godzilla film series that fans have been craving for since the Tri-Star muck-up of 1998.

Yet, other than that, what has Godzilla 2014 really done for the fans?

We kid, of course. Love 'em!

New Injustice: Gods Among Us Figuarts Revealed

The Tamashii Nations “Soul Nation” Event is currently going on in Japan, and Bandai and Tamashii Nations have wasted no time showcasing some of their future releases!

Fans of the Injustice: Gods Among Us video game will be happy to know we will be getting four Figuarts pieces that accurately portray four of the game's main characters, including Batman, Superman, Joker and Harley Quinn! Each look to feature superb attention to detail, plenty of articulation and in-game character specific accessories!

Take a look at the images mirrored below!

These are, to put it bluntly - stupendous! After the horrid offerings from Mattel in their DC Unlimited retail line (We loved the line, but Mattel really dropped the ball on their Injustice offerings, and you all know it!), these are the figures fans have been waiting for!

Thank you, Bandai! Thank you! Finally, some Injustice figures we actually want to have sitting on our shelves.

Batman v Superman Trailer - Fan Animation

This was just too cool not to share! If you weren't at San Diego Comic Con 2014, chances are very good you've never actually seen the Batman v Superman trailer that played in Hall H. And chances are good we're still a good ways off from seeing an officially released trailer for the film.

Yes, the trailer leaked online for a time, but was quickly removed by Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment. Granted, there are some sites out there that have been kind enough to post lengthy paragraphs describing the footage that was shown, but isn't it better to see something like that live?

     We certainly think so!

Which is why we had to share this awesome fan-made animation of the Batman v Superman trailer, created by Marvin Tan, known on Youtube as Free Will Revolution. Having seen the trailer ourselves, we can attest that this is a very accurate representation of the footage shown at Comic Con.

     Check it Out!

Okay, so a live-action teaser it is not, but this is the next best thing. No doubt, this is the closest some will ever get to seeing the Comic Con footage, since DC Entertainment has said there are no plans to release the trailer officially.

Still, believe us when we say this is pretty accurate.

Most impressive, Marvin! Keep up the good work!

Batman v Superman is slated for release in March 2016 and stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ray Fisher, Jason Momoa and Jeremy Irons and is the next entry in the DC Cinematic Universe!

RUMOR: Wonder Woman Solo Movie Set In 1920

That's right, Infinite Earths fans! Apparently, the upcoming Wonder Woman solo movie, set for release in 2017, will take place within the 1920's.

According to Bleeding Cool, the first half of the film will take place on Paradise Island with warring Amazon factions vying for control.

The arrival of a man, not necessarily Steve Trevor, changes that status quo. When Wonder Woman joins him on his return to the outside world, we discover it is the 1920's. The film will then show Diana exploring that world – a world where women have only just got the vote – from her… unique perspective.

In addition, they report that a sequel would be set to take place during World War II, with a threequel taking place in the modern day, with the Justice League Of America.

Again, this is all a rumor at this point, as nothing is really known about Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment's current plans for the solo Wonder Woman flick. All we really know is that it will be released in 2017, star Gal Gadot, and that a female director is apparently being sought to direct.

If this is the case, perhaps DC's Wonder Woman will be the answer to the Marvel Studios period-piece, Captain America: The First Avenger.

Skull Island Gets Re-Write

While Godzilla scribe Max Borenstein penned the first draft of Legendary Pictures' Skull Island, Legendary Pictures have turned to Flight writer John Gatins to pen the next draft of the film.

Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers) will star as the lead in the film, which Jordan Vogt-Roberts will direct. The project was the big surprise in Legendary’s action-packed presentation at this year's San Diego Comic Con.

The script was penned by Max Borenstein, who got it far enough for Universal to date the King Kong prequel story for November 4, 2016, before he went on to write the next installment of Godzilla for Gareth Edwards and Legendary Pictures.

Character Descriptions For CBS' Supergirl Revealed

Casting is underway for DC Entertainment's next comic based television show, Supergirl. Set to air on CBS, the pilot was penned by Ali Adler (No Ordinary Family) and Greg Berlanti (Arrow), who will also executive produce the show alongside  Sarah Schechter.

Now, thanks to our friends at TV Line, we have the first character descriptions from the show, for Kara and her sister Alex respectively. And they show that some changes from the pages of DC Comics might be in-store for the upcoming CBS pilot. Read on...

     From TV Line:

For Kara Zor-El aka Kara Danvers, the show is eyeing Caucasian females, age 22 to 26, to play 24. As the series’ mythology goes, Kara at age 12 was sent from her dying home planet of Krypton to Earth, where she was taken in by the Danvers, a foster family who taught her to be careful with her extraordinary powers. After repressing said skills for more than a decade, Kara is forced to bust out her super moves in public during an unexpected disaster. Energized by her heroism for the first time in her life, she begins embracing her abilities in the name of helping the people of her city, earning herself a super moniker along the way.

IE Author's Note: This is different from the current New 52 incarnation of the character as Kara Zor-El arrives on Earth in her late teens/early twenties, but in the upcoming CBS adaptation, she arrives on Earth at the age of twelve.

The other lead role currently being cast is that of 26-year-old Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Kara’s gorgeous, brilliant, science-minded foster sister. Growing up, Alex was partly jealous of her sibling yet also fascinated by her abilities, prompting Alex to learn as much as she could about alien anthropology, sociology and culture. Today, Alex works for a secret government organization and, alongside her heroic sis, will face many challenges, both mundane and super.

How do these changes grab you, Infinite Earths fans?

Review: JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time

While we await the release of the next DC Animated Original Movie, Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, we figured we'd finally take a look at another DC Animated flick that was released earlier this year - JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time. This one strays away from the darker, grittier PG-13 films and instead, offers some family friendly fun that calls to mind the DC Animated Universe of yesteryear!

Directed by Giancarlo Volpe (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), JLA Adventures brings with it a familiar sense of thrills akin to the DCAU. While it isn't the most original story out there; Lex Luthor uses a being known as the Time Trapper to travel back in time in an effort to stop the Kent's from ever adopting Kal-El, thus eliminating Superman and the formation of the Justice League. Yet, JLA Adventures still delivers where it counts!

The flick has a running time of under an hour, yet the characters are still flushed out to the full. One such example is that of Batman and Robin. While they work well as a team throughout the duration of the film, their master/student relationship is clear through their constant, oftentimes humorous, banter with one another.

Superman is also a character that is captured well. Presented as an effective leader to the ranks of the JLA, these attributes are carried on into the film's 31st Century setting, where the Man of Steel meets future Legionnaires, Dawnstar and Karate Kid. However, since the film's plot dabbles heavily on time-travel, it's one major flaw comes to the fore - the time-travel stuff makes very little sense. Yet, it's something that can ultimately be ignored.

While the cast of JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time all come into it at the top of their game, none stands out more than the familiar gruffness of Diedrich Bader. Once again voicing the Caped Crusader, the first time since the conclusion of the much-loved animated series Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Bader nails the role once again, despite the fact that the film features a somewhat more traditional take on The Dark Knight. Other notable additions to the cast include the likes of Corey Burton (Batman: Arkham City) as the Time Trapper, Grey DeLisle (Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox) as Wonder Woman, Kevin Michael Richardson (Green Lantern: The Animated Series) as Black Manta and Jason Spisak (Young Justice) as The Flash. Each has had experience working within the confines of the animated world of the DC Universe and, as previously mentioned, each is at the top of their game and each brings something familiar to this Family Friendly take on the DCAU.

JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time features plenty of action - from flying to punching - and lots of genuine and natural humor, from heroes and villains alike, that had us laughing out loud on more than one occasion. And, while the film has a rather old-school feel throughout, the character designs and settings are thoroughly modern.

In conclusion, while this may not be one of the DC Animated Original Movies we love so very much, and while it does have its flaws, JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time is a fun trip down memory lane for anyone who, not only grew up with the Bruce Timm-era DCAU, but even the vintage Hannah-Barbera Superfriends time period of the 70's and 80's. It's lots of fun from start to finish, and is sure to have DC Comics fans coming back for repeated viewings time and again!

JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time is available on DVD now!

New Terminator: Genisys Images Released

Man, the last few hours have been kind of rough on Terminator: Genisys, and it all started with a pair of magazine covers shared by Entertainment Weekly. On top of that, the film's story was teased and will apparently see the character of Sarah Connor raised by an aging Terminator played by Arnold Schwarzenegger - um, No!

Well, today we have a look at some new images, thanks again to our friends over at Entertainment Weekly. And, while it appears like the whole cast is involved in some sort of shouting match, and Matt Smith (Doctor Who) looks to be packing a paintball gun, we're still curious to see where this film goes. We only hope those story points aren't really happening.

While the first image appears to be a still straight from the film, the rest appear to be from a publicity shoot, and don't represent the characters as they'll appear in the film - we hope. But, who knows? Maybe in the future, what with escalating fuel prices and TV shows like Jane the Virgin dominating the airwaves, everyone really is THAT ticked off!

Terminator: Genisys opens on July 1st, 2015.
