Play Arts Kai SDCC Arkham Knight Batman Revealed

Square Enix has revealed a San Diego Comic Con exclusive Play Arts Kai Arkham Knight Batman this weekend! A limited edition, this figure will feature a mix of metallic blue and gold highlights and come complete with interchangeable hands, a batarang and a grapple gun. This Arkham Knight Batman figure is priced at $99.99 and is available for pre-order now.

From Square Enid:

To match the beautiful and highly detailed game graphics, we placed heavy emphasis on bringing out the fine details and mechanical look when creating the sculpt, resulting in a finish that gives the realistic impression of a human being, BRUCE WAYNE, wearing the suit. Similarly with the paintwork, we adorned the suit with a metallic sheen, as well as scuffs and weathering that show the scars of his battles. In this San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusive limited color version, we have highlighted the fine details with metallic paintwork in bright blue and gold.

A cape that more realistically replicates the movement of cloth, and interchangeable hands with different textures both add to the dynamic expression achieved when posing; add weapon pieces to the mix, and the collector can enjoy BATMAN™ action poses at their best.
Figure includes display stand.

[PLEASE NOTE]

SDCC exclusive preordered at the SQUARE ENIX Online Store will be shipped to your provided address, and are not available for onsite pick-up at SDCC 2015.

Products will not be shipped until August 31st 2015.

Disney Pulls Plug on Tron 3

A bit of disappointing news to kick off the weekend, Infinite Earths fans.

It sounds as though Disney has scrapped plans to move forwar with Tron 3. This choice came about due to the fact that the studio could not find a place on its crowded slate as it looked all the way into 2018, according to studio executives.

“We had never greenlit the movie, but it was in development for some time,” said one Disney executive, discussing the decision to put the project back on the shelf. “Things in the queue got ahead of it and we have such a big slate out in front of it, we started to think, ‘Where does it go?’ And it’s a pretty big investment to make if you are not even sure when you are going to release it.”

Plans had been made to begin shooting the next film this October n Vancouver. Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinki was set to return to direct the new film, with Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund to star. Disney had hoped to shoot the sequel for the same money as Tron: Legacy - about $170 Million.

However, this doesn't mean audiences will never return to The Grid. “I think it could resurface at some point but it’s not going to get the go button right now,” said another individual familiar with the project.

This is disappointing, but so long as there is a chance that this movie wild get made, we're willing to wait. How about you guys? Are you upset to hear the news of Tron 3 being shelved?
