Kevin Bacon Confirms Tremors TV Show Headed To Syfy

Back in November of 2015, it was revealed that Kevin Bacon would be returning as Valentine McKee in a brand new television series based off the classic 1990's monster movie, Tremors. Bacon would also serve as an executive producer on the project, which was being penned by Andrew Miller.

Now, the actor has confirmed that the TV series is a go, and that it has found a home on Syfy.

"We are going to do a pilot for Syfy,"  Bacon confirmed to Screen Daily. "It’s the only character I’ve ever played that I was interested in exploring 25 years later. It [‘Tremors’] is a really good movie. I don’t go back and watch my movies but because we were doing this one, I had to go back and look at it. It’s just the idea of this loser who is living a very ordinary life and has an extraordinary experience with these monsters and becomes, for a moment, a hero."

The original Tremors, which saw residents of Perfection, Nevada battling giant killer worms, was released in 1990 by Universal Pictures and starred Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward, Michael Gross, Finn Carter and Reba McEntire as a group of townspeople battling monstrous sand worms, known as graboids, living beneath the earth of their small Nevada town.

The movie grossed a mere $16-Million and spawned four sequels and a short-lived TV show.

"If you really want to turn this movie around, you have got to get Jar Jar in there, and not just a supporting role," he says. "Maybe it's a Jar Jar movie now."

Wonder Woman Becomes Highest-Grossing Female Directed Film

Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman has officially become the highest-grossing live-action film directed by a woman in the world. As of this past weekend, the movie has earned an incredible $635-Million worldwide, beating out the $609.8-Million earned by Mamma Mia! back in 2008.

If that's not impressive enough, the movie has even gone on to eclipse several of its fellow superheroes. Wonder Woman has nearly doubled the domestic take of 2008's Iron Man and surpassed the total domestic takes of fellow DC Extended Universe chapters Man Of Steel ($291-Million), Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice ($330-Million) and Suicide Squad ($325-Million). And the film shows no signs of slowing down.

In short, Wonder Woman continues to be a huge win for both DC Entertainment and Warner Bros., whose previous DC films were derided by critics and fans alike - despite being financially successful on the big screen and within the Home Video market.

Last week,  Warner Bros. Pictures President and Chief Content Officer Toby Emmerich confirmed that director Patty Jenkins "is already working on" a sequel to Wonder Woman.

"Patty and I are writing the treatment right now," added DC Films co-head Geoff Johns. "The goal is to make another great “Wonder Woman” film. I had a blast making it with Patty the first time. We’ve got a cool idea for the second one."

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis, Wonder Woman is in theatres now.

Rick And Morty Live Stream Event Announced

There is no doubt that the wait for the third season of Rick And Morty has been a long and agonizing one! Fans have been ripping their hair out in frustration awaiting new episodes following the surprise premiere that kicked off Season 3 of the hit animated series, with many wondering what was going on behind the scenes that could be causing such a long and drawn out delay.

Recently, co-creator Dan Harmon took to Twitter in an attempt to put the worries and concerns of fans to rest, assuring them that all was well and good with the show and that the reason for the delay was due to the amount of time they took writing the season.

"Justin and I are very regretful about the season taking way too long. I want to explain ‘what happened’ because it’s way less dramatic than you might ever imagine. post internet TV audiences are so used to finding out there’s an intriguing/confusing/intense reason 4 delays and Christ knows if you’ve ever seen MY name on the internet I’ve only got myself to blame for an association with intrigue/confusion/drama, but the truth in this case is so very boring."

"The reason S3 took long is because it took long to write. Because it was S3 of a show that we were scared to make worse than S2 or S1. But don’t worry about the content, because the reason overthought slows you down is you just do way more versions of stuff than needed. You usually end up back where you started. So as far as I can tell, although I’m too close to it, it’s just another good season of RAM."

Now, as if adding a little more light to the end of the tunnel, the show's official Twitter account has announced that a Rick And Morty live stream event is set to kick off on June 29th.

Details surrounding the event are scarce at this time, but we do know that it will kick off this Thursday at 9pm EST and that fans are being warned not to miss it or tune in late.

Could the live stream contain a new episode of the show? Or, perhaps an announcement regarding when fans can finally expect the third season to begin airing? We can't say for certain, but if you're a Rick And Morty fan, we suggest you clear your plans for this Thursday evening and tune in!
