We Discuss Wonder Woman With Susan Eisenberg

One of the biggest fans and supporters of what we do here at Infinite Earth is voice actress Susan Eisenberg. If that name sounds familiar, it's because she has been voicing Wonder Woman for nearly two decades now. Susan took up the role of DC's iconic superheroine beginning in 2001 with Justice League: The Animated Series and has gone on to lend her voice to the role on numerous occasions. Most recently, Susan stepped back into the part for Injustice 2. This new video game continues the story first chronicled in 2013's Injustice: Gods Among Us and sees the villainous Brainiac arriving on Earth to cause all kinds of trouble.

We recently had a chance to talk with Susan about her role in the video game, but we also touched on a few more exciting topics surrounding the Amazonian princess and what has made her such an endearing part of pop culture for the last 76 years...

Infinite Earths: "What was it like for you stepping into the classic role of Wonder Woman once again for Injustice 2?"

Susan Eisenberg: "Any time, and I mean any time, I'm lucky enough to be asked to voice Diana, my reaction is always the same: Thank you, Hera...WB...and DC Comics!"

Infinite Earths: "What was it like reuniting with JLU co-stars like Kevin Conroy, George Newbern and Adam Baldwin once again?"

Susan Eisenberg: "Well, the truth is I didn't work with any of those guys during the game. When you record VO for a video game, you're alone in the booth. Each actor records separately, and your partners are the voice director and the writer usually, but no fellow cast members."

Infinite Earths: "How does this version of Wonder Woman differ from past versions that you have voiced in JLU and DC Online?"

Susan Eisenberg: "Haha. Where do I begin? She's not the compassionate, kind-hearted Wonder Woman that we've come to know and love in JLU and DCUO. BUT, she's a total bad ass, and she takes no prisoners! She was totally fierce, and I never had the chance to play that side of her before."

Infinite Earths: "Switching topics now, we have to ask: Do you think that Wonder Woman could take Superman in a fight?"

Susan Eisenberg: (Laughs) "Yes. Next Question."

Infinite Earths: "You've been voicing Wonder Woman since 2001, is there a dream project that you would like to be involved in voicing the character?"

Susan Eisenberg: "Oh my gosh, so many! I would love to voice her in an animated feature, a series, and a video game of her own, like Batman in Arkham."

Infinite Earths: "Would you say that the world needs a hero like Wonder Woman now more than in years past?"

Susan Eisenberg: "I don't know that we do need her now more than ever, but this is certainly her time. I think we've always needed heroes; they're our beacons of strength and of justice. They help us believe in basic human goodness, and trust that Good, in the end, will triumph over evil. Obviously in darker times that need is much greater."

Infinite Earths: "Can you shed a little light on what the future holds for you voicing Wonder Woman?"

Susan Eisenberg: "Well, I'm currently voicing her in Injustice 2, and I'll continue voicing her in the newest DCUO game Age Of Justice. After that, I will keep you posted."

Infinite Earths: "And finally, we have to know, did you enjoy the Wonder Woman movie?"

Susan Eisenberg: "I can share that I LOVED the film, as have so many fans who have seen it! It was just overwhelming to experience it because the Wonder Woman fans have been waiting for a solo WW film for a very long time, and now they finally have it. The elation is palpable, and the reception to the the movie bodes well for many, many more upcoming WW projects! Great Hera!"

Infinite Earths would like to personally thank Susan for taking time out of her busy schedule to speak with us! We truly are honored to have you as a fan and supporter of our work and look forward to speaking with you again in the future!

We wish you the best of luck in all your future projects, and hope that Warner Bros. animation will give you a call to voice Wonder Woman in an upcoming animated feature soon! Perhaps in an animated take of Tom Taylor's Injustice comic where you can square off with George Newbern's Superman! Or, let's get you and Kevin Conroy together to lend your voices to an animated movie based off of Greg Rucka's The Hiketeia where you can put the boots to Batman!

Come on, Warner Bros., you know you want to!

Susan has the honor of being the very first interview conducted by Infinite Earths!

Please be sure to pop on over to her official website!

Until next time, Infinite Earths fans!
